  1. Bailee,

I love your creativity for your blog post with doing a video and a fun PowerPoint presentation! In your video I like how you point out "random" mutations as being a source for evolution. That is part of the beauty of biology. Random things, or "accidents" can happen in replication leading to these mutations that can ultimately actually help that organism survive better in its environment. I also like how you point out that calling evolution a "fact" establishes a hard line around what evolution is or could be. I think, like we talked about in class, that somewhat closes the door on further inquiry into how evolution works or began. Great work!

  2. Hi Bailee,
I really liked your video, it was easy to follow and a great way to convey the information. I agree with your points and felt that your explanations were well said. When looking at evolution, I think it is important to remember all the contributing factors. Like you said with the idea of "random" mutations. I think we often believe evolution is simple and its just genes altering, but there is a lot of grey area and evolution is more complex than we often think. Answering the question of what is evolution should be simple but its complicated. When discussing fact vs theory, I really liked how you explained the "hard line" because its true. When we say something is fact, its brushed off and assumed that we know everything there is to know about it. That is not true with evolution, we have just scraped the surface of evolution. We still need to learn about how life first evolved and how those initial changes came to be. Overall great job and I really like the video format.

  3. Hi Bailee! I love that you make videos for your blog posts, it's very creative and they're easy to watch. I agree with your points and i really enjoyed your powerpoint presentation to go with it. I liked that you talked about how evolution is constantly changing, so it's hard to define it as a distinct fact. keep up the good work, and keep the fun videos coming!
